Circuit Breaker

A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect a circuit from damage caused by excess current due to an overload or short circuit. Its basic function is to interrupt the flow of current upon detection of a fault. The circuit breaker can be reset (manually or automatically) to restore normal operation. Our magnetic and thermal circuit breakers are made of rugged materials, making them ideal for marine and vehicle AC and DC power systems.

Circuit Breakers: Resettable Protection for Critical Power Systems

Eliminate the Hassle of Blown Fuses with Reliable Circuit Breakers

A robust electrical system requires more than just connectivity; it demands intelligent protection. Circuit breakers offer a superior alternative to traditional fuses by providing resettable safety for your DC and AC circuits. When an overload or short circuit occurs, the breaker trips to cut power instantly, preventing damage to wiring and equipment. Unlike fuses that must be replaced after every fault, a circuit breaker can be easily reset with the push of a button or the flip of a lever, restoring power in seconds and reducing long-term maintenance costs.

Specialized Breaker Technologies for Every Application

High-Amp Waterproof DC Breakers: Designed for rugged environments, these manual reset circuit breakers (often rated from 30A to 300A) serve as the main disconnect for car audio systems, marine trolling motors, and RV battery banks. Featuring IP67 waterproof housings and ignition protection, they are safe for use in engine compartments and fuel vapor areas. The visible reset lever also doubles as a convenient kill switch for system maintenance.

Thermal Push-Button Breakers: Compact and cost-effective, these units are ideal for protecting individual accessories like air compressors, bilge pumps, and power strips. Many models come with transparent waterproof boots to protect the reset button from dust and moisture.

Hydraulic-Magnetic Circuit Breakers: For precision applications requiring stable performance regardless of ambient temperature, hydraulic-magnetic breakers are the gold standard. Commonly used in telecommunications, marine distribution panels, and solar setups, these breakers ensure accurate tripping points without being affected by heat, providing consistent protection for sensitive electronics.

Why Upgrade to Circuit Breakers?

  • Convenience & Sustainability: Never hunt for a spare fuse again. The resettable design is eco-friendly and ideal for troubleshooting intermittent electrical faults.
  • Manual Control: Most high-amp models feature a manual trip button, allowing you to physically disconnect the circuit for safety during repairs or vehicle storage.
  • Visual Indication: The lever or button position gives a clear visual cue when a circuit has tripped, simplifying diagnostics.

Selecting the Right Protection

To choose the correct breaker, match the amperage rating to your wire's current-carrying capacity—not just the device's load. Consider the environment: use waterproof surface-mount breakers for under-hood or marine use, and panel-mount breakers for equipment enclosures. Whether you need a heavy-duty 200A breaker for a winch or a precise 10A breaker for a control panel, Daier provides the reliable defense your circuitry demands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Most of our power accessories are designed with a wide input voltage range of DC 12V to 24V. This makes them universally compatible with cars, SUVs, and RVs (12V) as well as heavy-duty trucks, buses, and marine vessels (24V). However, always check the specific product's voltage rating before installation to ensure optimal performance.
Both are fast-charging protocols but serve different needs:
· QC 3.0 (Quick Charge): Primarily used for Android devices, providing high-speed charging for compatible smartphones.
· PD (Power Delivery): A more advanced protocol capable of higher power output. It is essential for fast-charging iPhones (8 and newer), iPads, and even some smaller laptops.
Many of our chargers feature dual ports (QC + PD) to ensure all your devices charge at their maximum supported speed simultaneously.
The power consumption of the integrated LED backlight or digital voltmeter is extremely low (typically less than 30mA). Under normal circumstances, it will not drain a healthy vehicle battery even if left connected for several days. For long-term vehicle storage, we recommend models with a built-in ON/OFF switch, allowing you to completely cut power to the charger and save every bit of battery capacity.
We offer two standardized mounting designs to fit different dashboard layouts:
· Round Socket Style: Requires a standard 1-1/8" (approx. 29mm) diameter hole. These are ideal for blank dashboard areas or replacing existing cigarette lighter sockets.
· Rocker Switch Style: Designed to fit into a standard rectangular rocker switch cutout. These allow for a seamless, integrated look when installed alongside other switches in a control panel.
Our marine-grade accessories are equipped with tight-fitting rubber or silicone caps. When the cap is closed, the units achieve an IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating, protecting the internal circuits from rain, sea spray, and dust. For maximum longevity in marine environments, it is recommended to keep the protective cap closed whenever a device is not being charged.
An integrated digital voltmeter provides real-time monitoring of your battery’s health. It allows you to identify potential alternator failures or battery degradation before they lead to a "no-start" situation. For example, a reading below 12V when the engine is off indicates a low battery, while a reading above 14.8V while driving may indicate an overcharging issue that needs attention.
